As part of BEAT’s community outreach to promote healthy lifestyles and the sport of triathlon, BEAT has supported the Harvest Hands Triathlon Club since 2010! Harvest Hands CDC is a Christian-based after-school program in South Nashville that provides homework help and exposure to sports for kids that might not otherwise have that environment after school.
Each Friday from March through May, BEAT members help fifteen eager kids, ages 7-10, with their swimming, biking, and running skills, as well as helping to teach these kids about building healthy habits from a young age. Thank you to all the BEAT members that have helped as swim instructors & on-deck helpers: Joana Riddick, Frank Coll, Jerry Rudden, Mike Long, Mace Linde, Sandy Coomer, Janet Byers, Dona McIlvain, Steve Anderson, Neil Knickerbocker. And a special thank you to Sherri Kerstetter, who has spearheaded this worthwhile program for BEAT since its inception.
